Character History:
A gargoyle, later named Brooklyn, was born into the clan of Castle Wyvern in Scotland, in 958 AD. He was raised as a gargoyle, to protect those of who protected him in his stone-slumber during the day. He and his clan would protect his saviors at night, when the sun went down, against intruders. While he was happy to do this, the humans were still not accepting of his kind and usually feared him and the clan. But that never stopped him from being curious about humans.

He was raised alongside two other gargoyles, who were later named Broadway and Lexington. The three of them stuck side by side (often called the ‘trio’) working under the watchful eye of the clan leader, Goliath. One day, they were betrayed by a man who protected them. The castle was raided and most of their clan was destroyed during the day time, when they were most vulnerable in their stone-like. Luckily, Goliath, Hudson (Goliath’s mentor) and the others survived the night. During the raid, the mage of the castle accused the remaining clan members of killing the princess (in which she was being currently saved by Goliath). Brooklyn and the others did not know what he was talking about, but it was too late. The mage casted a spell on them which put them back into stone, rendering them so until the Wyvern castle rose above the clouds. Distraught by this, Goliath demanded that the mage cast the same spell on him so that he could be with his clan members. After the spell was cast, the gargoyles were put back up onto their perches atop Wyvern Castle.

A thousand years pass, and David Xanatos, a billionare from New York, purchases the castle to be brought to Manhattan. There, he placed the castle on a tower, which reached up above the clouds. He had read, in the mage’s book, that if he were to do this, the gargoyles would come back to life. The following night, he watched as the gargoyles broke out of their stone-slumber. The clan rejoiced, being alive once again. Xanatos explained to them their situation, and told them that they were the last of their kind known to exist. They agreed to stay atop their former home, under the care of Xanatos.

They soon found out that Xanatos was nothing but a criminal, thanks to Elisa Maza, a detective. The group befriended the human, who happened upon them by accident, and they all became close friends. They even assigned names to one another, where Brooklyn got even his own, which is now his current name, named after one of New York’s well known landmarks. After some hard convincing, Elisa got Goliath and the others to move to a different rooftop.

During Brooklyn’s time in Manhattan, he ran into Demona, who was Goliath’s former mate. She manipulated him into thinking that humans were worse now than what they ever were. Brooklyn tried to find some ‘kindred spirits’ but it only back fired when the humans found out what he was. He was brutally attacked until Demona, Goliath’s past mate, saved him. During this event, Brooklyn was tricked into thinking that humans would never accept them. Demona explained that Brooklyn had to get the mage’s book, the Grimorum. Inside the book was a spell in which could ‘open Goliath’s eyes’ to what the human world was really like. Unknown to Brooklyn, it was actually a mind control spell. Devastated by what he had done, by tricking Goliath, he fought Demona for he book back and was luckily able to return Goliath back to normal.

Later, Brooklyn meet up with a mutate called Maggie Reed. She was once a homeless human and sought shelter with the promise of a better life from a scientist called Aton Sevarius. Little did she know that she was actually turned into a science experiment and was changed permanently into a creature. It was a mix of an anthromorphic cat with bat wings. When Brooklyn saw her breaking out of the facility, Gen-U-Tec, he felt obligated to help her. When she was saved, Maggie was horrified by what she saw. Living breathing gargoyles. Appalled by it, she ran away from the clan, despite Brooklyn’s attempts to make her listen. She wanted to be human, but Brooklyn wanted her to see that she was fine the way she was.

As time passed, Maggie soon grew attached to another mutate, Derek Maza, who was once Elisa’s brother. It is hinted in the series that Brooklyn had a crush on Maggie, but she was completely oblivious to it. Any encounter with Maggie usually left Brooklyn’s heart in pieces on the floor.

Time in Manhattan was a hectic one with magic going awry and Xanatos up to no good. But through time, Goliath had seen Brooklyn’s strength and confidence grow. Because of that, he appointed him to become second in command. This position was important, because if Goliath was not able to fulfill his duties, Brooklyn would take his place.

And that is the canon point in which I am taking Brooklyn from. If you want to be technical, it would be from Season 2’s ‘Upgrade’ episode.

Character Personality:
Brooklyn is a loyal gargoyle who is there for his friends and allies whenever they need him. He is willing to put his life on the line for them when it's needed. Brooklyn is one of the few gargoyles who has a pretty good temperament, but when someone does irk him to far, he won't hesitate to intimidate. He is a positive individual when it comes to life, and often cracks jokes to pit a smile on someone's face. Brooklyn loves to explore and find out more about the human world around him. The gargoyle is often fascinated by human customs, cultures and strange devices, which shows he's open and willing to try out new things. This can also make him into a thrill seeker at times, and that can get him into trouble one way or another.

Underneath his outgoing self, there's a whole different story. He doesn't exactly have confidence in himself to become a leader like Goliath, who put him as second-in-command of their clan. In the past, he has also had some 'girl problems'. He doesn't quite know the difference between love and infatuation, and is usually left devastated in the end.

He is rather interested in meeting new people, and can make friends easily. If you do make enemies with him, he will be forever wary of you. He is uneasy when it comes to trusting people all over again, especially when people try to make amends again with him. And with his curiosity with the human world, and new things in general, he is willing to learn new things.

Powers and Abilities:
His physical appears gives him the ability to fly and perch to ledges quite well. Brooklyn's claws are powerful enough to pierce through stone and even clutch into it if he needed to climb. With his slightly thin and muscular build it gives him the ability to fly faster than most gargoyles and to be able maneuver with great agility through obstacles.

When the sun rises however, where ever he is at, at the moment, he turns to stone. He stays like this until the sunsets. Once it does set, he breaks through his stone shell. It is depicted that the gargoyles rest during this time encased in stone. He awakens with a mighty yawn, looking rather rejuvenated.

Network:

[As the video feed flickers to life, a stone gargoyle comes to life. It almost looks as though someone had left it behind, or even lost it. But soon, the statue starts to shudder and soon cracks open, revealing that it was nothing but a case, holding the creature, which it had formed around, within it.

A red creature breaks through and looks around, before he’s greeted by the sunlight outside in Natalius.

Wait.]

The sun light? N-No way! This is unbelievable! I didn’t think… No! This must be Puck’s doing. This is too good to be true. The actual sun? It feels so warm and… inviting! Guys, isn’t this awesome? I mean it might not last long but I--

[He turns around, half expecting someone to be there.]

Goliath? Bronx….? Anyone? [His wings droop, an apparent sign of disappointment, but that was until he spots the communicator on the ground. He picks it up, dusting some debris from his stone cocoon away from the lens. Now this is something he was somewhat-familiar with.]

Red light means its recording right? Well. [Brooklyn clears his throat.] If anyone gets this, my name is Brooklyn and I seem to be lost. I also lost my friends! They’re Goliath, Bronx, Elisa, Hudson, Broadway, and Lexington! They all look like me, except Elisa, who is a detective. Anyways, whoever gets this let them know I’m looking for them!

I dunno why I’d be in a strange place like this but, we need to get home to Manhattan, right away! So uh… any help would be appreciated.

Third Person: Brooklyn stood atop the clock tower of the police station, overlooking the streets below. This was his clan’s city to protect. All of the people of Manhattan, plus his clan in which he belonged to... And pretty soon, the burden of being leader of the clan, and the protection of Manhattan, would soon be rested on his shoulders. It was something that worried the young gargoyle every day. Ever since Goliath picked him as second in command, his mind always second guessed himself. Manhattan was much bigger than the land that Castle Wyvern overlooked. A hundred times bigger even!

Brooklyn flexed his claws a bit as he sat on down on his perch, the lights of the city highlighting his concern written on his face. Could he do it? Could he take on this responsibility of a leader when the time came? Would he be able to be as good as Goliath? Too many questions rushed into his mind. Thankfully, something broke his flood of questions invading his mind. He perked up seeing Lexington and Broadway run up to him excitedly on the rooftop, exclaiming that they had heard of a food truck nearby that had some ‘awesome’ tacos. And then suddenly the two of them took off into the night sky.

That snapped Brooklyn out of it. He watched as his rookery brothers glided through the sky and into the cool city air. The gargoyle stood back up and puffed out his chest. The role of leadership could wait. He kicked off the ledge and swooped down, catching an updraft of air with his wings. The weight of leadership soon evaporated from his shoulders. He had to live in the present. In the now. No need to worry about the future of what ‘will’ or what ‘might happen. For now…

There were tacos to devour. And hopefully, he thought, Broadway wouldn’t eat them all before he got there.
